Dorothy Kidd, Associate Professor at Dept of Media Studies at the University of San Francisco, received her Ph.D. in Communication from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. She has published in the areas of political economy of media, feminist media and social change and alternative/community media. Her articles have been published in both academic and popular edited books and journals. She has also worked extensively in community radio and video production.
In this interview with VMC during the Commons Conference, Dorothy talks about the communications commons, Occupy and what it means to be involved with grassroots media on occupied land.
