Our enfeebled and chronically ill ( with the deadly Prorogationitus virus, whose only cure, is the prompt resumption of parliamentary proceedings, followed by the government's resignation en masse) democracy's on hold and suspended (perhaps indefinitely) our great leader dashed off to Davos. There he flaunted the wares of the nation for sale, to the Chinese ( Indians too perhaps?) and other interested parties or lowest bidders. He made a quick stop in Newfie -land. Perhaps to talk about more off-shore drilling for oil? Why not now that we are an “a corrupt petrol-state,” what else is there to talk about? As the wheeling – dealing goes on, our only representative voice, that is parliament remains closed. On the foreign front the "great" western powers are also making deals. This time with the dreaded Taliban terrorists.

Yup, according to news reports, it seems that a billion USD is going to pay- off the enemy to end this nine year old, post –colonial war; paid for or funded thanks to taxpayers' generosity. And now after the "banksters", they're bailing out the Taliban too! Of course, we are far more principled than the Brits and our American buddies. Hence, we'll be considering if our great leader's government will even take part in such a scurrilous sell-out or "exit strategy". As if, we had any say in horse-trading at all. If you think we do have any influence at the negociating table or over the final outcome of this war, even to the slightest degree, then I have some swamp land down in the Everglades for sale which might interest you..

Will the Taliban come and talk at the negotiating table? Is a a cool billion in prize money for technically winning this war by chasing the west-NATO troops out, enough for them to make peace with us ? We shall see. Meanwhile our boys are still over there fighting this already lost battle in an honourable fashion, as the back-room deals are being hatched at Whitehall and Washington. Even the Soviets left Afghanistan with more dignity. They didn’t sell out like the west is doing now. It was all worth it though, the 117 or so deaths due to "enemy actions" of our finest men and women in uniform. The Afgan war is almost over and peace is on the horizon. So let the extraction for oil and minerals in central Asia begin! May the best corporation win!
