SPOTLIGHT EARTH: CAPU
A global distributed festival based on the principles of education, entertainment, fundraising and action! This exciting event's focus will be to address the issues of pipelines, tankers and tar sands expansion while leaving a sense of hope by exploring alternative energies and methods of change. We recognize that it is important to discuss the severity of an issue but we also feel it is important to focus on positive alternatives instead of getting stuck in a feeling of doom and gloom. Spotlight Earth will raise awareness for these issues by bringing in guest speakers on the forefront of change making; however, most importantly, we will be drawing from the Capilano University community to raise awareness in a creative and artistic way!

PRESENTERS
Calvin Degroot (Defend The Coast CapU)
Ben West (Forest Ethics)
Tamo Campos (Beyond Boarding)
Zack Embree (Artist and Activist)
Desiree Wallace & Dini Stamatopulos (One Act Play)

GETTING TO THE BOSA CENTRE AND PARKING
The Bosa Centre is part of Capilano University, which is located at 2055 Purcell Way, North Vancouver. To get to the Bosa Centre, head up Lillooet Road, proceed PAST the main campus entrance (Purcell Way) and turn right on Skeena Rd. The Bosa Centre is located at the top of that road with paid parking lots around.

OPEN HOUSE
Spotlight Earth: CapU will also have an open house before the main event, which will be from 5:00-6:30 in the Library Building, room 195 (Capilano University). This portion of Spotlight Earth will be showcasing campus arts and talents through an Open Mic and an Art Gallery, while facilitating connections through the Capilano stakeholders and the wider-spread community. Food, beverages and good times will be provided!
