Join us for the festival opening lecture at on February 15th at 5 pm when Michael Lewis  speaks about Strengthening Resilience Close to Home. Don’t miss our amazing opening double bill of Maestra  and Bidder 70, the Vancouver premiere of both of these two inspiring films about activism. Our Saturday night feature is the poignant and powerful Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth.

Check out our full daytime schedule for the 12th annual World Community Film Festival at Langara College. We are part of the Travelling World Community Festival which originates with World Community in Courtenay, BC. You can find a list of travelling festival venues here.

The Vancouver World Community Film Festival is BC’s largest social justice film fest. It features over 40 social justice and environmental documentaries that go to the heart of issues confronting communities here and around the world. The focus of the festival is to motivate audiences to action through awareness of issues both local and global.

The festival is produced by CoDevelopment Canada and the World Community Development Education Society, and co-sponsored by Langara College.
