Media Skills Workshop for Climate Justice Activists:

Focus on Fracking & Chevron’s Pacific Trails Pipeline

Tues March 19, 2013 6:30 – 9:30  Room #1315  SFU Harbour Centre 515 West Hastings Street Vancouver. Free

Join Rising Tide Vancouver, Coast Salish Territories activists in this interactive media skills workshop in preparation for an upcoming action against Chevron and the Pacific Trail Pipeline. The main focus of this workshop will be preparing you to speak effectively to grassroots and mainstream media either as a group spokesperson, or as a participant in an action. We will also touch on media advisories, media releases, and other ways to communicate with the media. We hope people will share their experiences and techniques. The skills taught in this workshop can be used in any situation, but most of the examples will be related to the proposed Pacific Trail fracking gas pipeline.

This workshop is intended for climate justice activists who want to become more effective in communicating through alternative and main-stream media. You don’t need to be experienced, just motivated to build the movement!
