CCAP town hall meeting
WHAT IF WE HAD A SOCIAL JUSTICE ZONE IN THE HEART OF OUR COMMUNITY?
Monday May 20
1pm
Carnegie Theatre, 401 Main St on the main floor

City Hall's planning process to draft a plan for the future of the DTES is rounding the bend into its final stages and, after having been involved since the beginning, CCAP is worried that the outcomes might not be true to the needs of the DTES low-income community. Along with other low-income community groups and people on that committee CCAP has been working on developing a "Social Justice Zone" plan that truly puts low-income, Indigenous, and other vulnerable residents at the core of the future of the community.

Come to this important town hall to discuss, if we could define a Social Justice Zone in the heart of our community:
- How would we manage our housing?
- How would we tackle discrimination?
- How would we ensure the most vulnerable people are safe from police and other violence?
- How would be support each other to fight poverty and homelessness?

Let's brainstorm some ideas to give to the city and our DTES groups. Maybe we'll want to work on some of them ourselves.
