BACKGROUND ABOUT THE TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a massive corporate power grab disguised as an international trade agreement. The TPP is already negotiated between Canada, Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States, Vietnam, and starting in July, Japan — which together cover approximately 40% of the global economy. However other Pacific Rim countries can join over time.
Over 600 Corporations are pushing the Trans-Pacific Partnership including Monsanto, Walmart, Big Ag and Wall Street power brokers. The TPP has been questioned — if not outright opposed — by labor, environmental, consumer, indigenous, family farm, labor and other social justice groups on four continents.
