Join Tibetans and supporters in BC to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the March 10, 1959, uprising against the Chinese government’s military occupation of Tibet. 

Rally/March/Protest

11am to 12pm: Rally at Vancouver Art Gallery, 750 Hornby Street (Robson Street side)

12pm to 1pm: March from Vancouver art Gallery to the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China (3380 Granville Street, Vancouver)

1pm to 3pm: Protest at the Chinese Consulate

Uprising Day is a deeply important anniversary for all Tibetans. The annual protests and vigils are memorials to Tibetans who have died, and demonstrations of solidarity with those who continue the struggle for freedom and self-determination. The events honour Tibetan resilience, and resistance. The events symbolize the Tibetan resilience and resistance to oppression. Commemorate Uprising Day alongside Tibetans of BC, and in solidarity with Tibetans in Tibet.
