On the Unceded Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh, join us as Rising Tide Portland organizer David Osborn presents on and discusses the recent rise in oil-by-rail actions happening in OR and WA.

In the past several months there have been multiple actions targeting the emerging oil-by-rail proposals in the United States. Rising Tide groups in the region have blockaded existing and proposed oil-by-rail facilities with tripods, concrete barrels and other tactics. David from Portland Rising Tide will be present to talk about the emerging oil train resistance, the push to export fossil fuels from Oregon, Washington and British Columbia, direct action and movement dynamics within the United States. He will present critiques of the recent People's Climate March and the need for strategies of disruption to address the climate crisis as a systemic problem rooted in capitalism.
