Burnaby Sat 7pm
Meet at Confederation park (Wilingdon Side)

On October 20, the Burnaby RCMP converged on a blockade to enforce an injunction to stop protesters from blocking Kinder Morgan workers from doing preparatory work for a tarsands pipeline expansion. It led to 24 arrests (and still more being made), scuffles with police and violence towards protesters.

This event is in solidarity with the Burnaby Mountain rebels and intends to occupy space while remaining fun, rebellious, autonomous and anti- authoritarian.

Many indigenous land defenders have been at the forefront of struggles against the destruction of the earth including the struggle against the KM pipeline: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxOuSARcJGM&feature=youtu.be

We would like to extend solidarity to those defending the land, whether on the mountain, or elsewhere, and promote the concept of diversity of tactics. Diversity of tactics means that many tactics can enhance each other whether they are in direct collaboration or not. And many places can be a vehicle for struggle.

In the interests of diversity of tactics we also want to promote the ZAD (Zone of Defence) struggle in France, where many people from a whole range of political perspectives and tactical outlooks, participate in occupations of land that are threatened by development. They create autonomous zones in the effected areas and use a variety of tactics to keep away police, corporate, and government intrusions.

In a battle at the end of October one protester, Rémi Fraise, was killed by a police grenade. In response, a callout has been made for solidarity demonstrations against police violence to occur on November 22nd.

There is no better way to extend our solidarity here than to continue our own struggle against Kinder-Morgan!

We are disgusted by the murder of Rémi, we are disgusted by the ongoing colonial genocide and destruction to the land taking place locally.

We are disgusted by the all-too-usual police violence that was seen at an all too calm rally on Burnaby Mountain.

We are inspired by all those who respond in an uncontrollable manner towards the onslaught of capitalism and genocide!

November 22nd: an international day against police violence and repression:
