On September 3rd, courageous and peaceful people re-occupied Sḵwxwú7mesh traditional lands of which Texas-based oil company, Kinder Morgan, has two proposed drill sites for the implementation of a pipeline that would inevitably cause desecration to these unceded lands and waters. Their interest lies solely within the profit they will gain from this project; they have no interest for the well-being of communities and ecosystems that they will never be a part of.

On November 20th, under colonial law, indigenous people and their settler allies were dispossessed from this land once more; the police used their discretion and instead of protecting the people against a multi-billion dollar corporation, with some of the worst environmental-social records in the world, criminalized them using brute force.

There are communities much more marginalized then Burnaby who experience this everyday with little to no support, exposure or justice upheld thereafter. They are not criminals, they are leaders in the struggle for human rights, social and environmental injustice.

LET US ALL UNITE THIS SUNDAY AGAINST KINDER MORGAN AND CORPORATIONS ALIKE, AGAINST POLICE REPRESSION, AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT ON BOTH LEVELS.

IN SOLIDARITY WITH LAND DEFENDERS EVERYWHERE.
