Cual es “Iniciativa Rumbo a Cuba?
El campamento CIJAM es donde los invitados internacionales de la solidaridad se alojan mientras hacen trabajo voluntario en Cuba. Miles de personas visitan CIJAM todos los años, hasta 500 voluntarios a la vez, y ha sido un verdadero desafio para el campamento proporcionar los servicios necesarios a sus voluntarios, sobre todo a causa del cruel bloqueo impuesto por los Estados Unidos. Si algo se rompe, nunca es tan fácil comprarlo o reemplazarlo.
Después de una campaña de recaudación de fondos muy exitosa donde fuimos capaces de proporcionarle al campamento una nueva bomba de agua, continuamos ayudando a este campamento que es tan importante para Cuba y el movimiento internacional de solidaridad con Cuba. En nuestras conversaciones con los trabajadores del campamento, ellos nos han dicho que las necesidades más inmediatas ahora son un tractor y un camión refrigerado.
Cuando Cuba llama, nosotros respondemos! Por eso hemos puesto en marcha una campaña para recaudar los fondos necesarios para el 31 de diciembre de 2015. Se trata de un objetivo ambicioso, pero creemos que con el apoyo que estamos recibiendo de tantos grupos y personas esto será posible. Por favor, únase a nosotros!

What is the “Rumbo a Cuba Initiative”?
The CIJAM camp is where international solidarity guests stay while in volunteering in Cuba. Thousands of people visit CIJAM every year, up to 500 at one time, and it has been a real challenge for the camp to provide the necessary services to its guests, especially because of the cruel US blockade. If something breaks, it is never just as easy as buying a replacement.
Following a very successful fundraising campaign where we were able to provide the camp with a new water pump, we are continuing to help the camp which is so important to Cuba and the international solidarity movement. In discussions with the camp's workers, they have told us that the most urgent needs are now a tractor and a freezer truck.
When Cuba calls, we answer! We have launched a campaign to raise the necessary funds by December 31, 2015. This is an ambitious goal, but we believe with the support we are receiving from so many groups and individuals this will be possible. Please join us!
