Acupuncture Aftercare for G20 returnees. We are Lisa and Laurel, two registered acupuncturists. We use a protocol developed by the National Acupuncture Detox Association (NADA) which uses ear acupuncture. It’s simple and can treat a large number of people at the same time, sitting in chairs fully clothed. The NADA ear points are highly effective in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, giving people immediate relief from stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia, and interrupting the cycles of unresolved trauma. It is widely used with war veterans and survivors of natural disasters. Consistent participation brings optimal results. Done in groups, the community acupuncture can help break the isolation often experienced after traumatic events. You don’t have to talk, you can just receive treatment. Healing in a community environment is especially beneficial when trauma has affected the whole community, and so treatment is offered to everyone, not only to people recently returned from Toronto. The more people participate, the more powerful the effects of the shared stillness. If you come with a friend, you'll be helping your friend. Sounds weird maybe, but it's true. When the entire group feels calm and quiet together, hope, determination and resiliency rise powerfully within it. ...This is our way of saying THANK YOU.
