The first Indigenous Assembly against Mining and Pipelines was held in Neskonlith, Secwepemc Territories. The second Indigenous Assembly is being planned in Vancouver, Coast Salish Territories to coincide with the pro-mining "Meeting Minds, Making Mines" Conference being held at the Pan Pacific Hotel from November 6-8th. The conference is sponsored by mining companies and the Canadian Aboriginal Mineral Association who want to want to "sell" and further push through mining onto Indigenous communities. Brochure: http://www.aboriginalminerals.com/pdfs/CAMA-2011_W.pdf
Indigenous communities from across the province are gathering in Vancouver Unceded Coast Salish Territories to oppose this conference and to say no mining, pipelines, and resource extraction on unceded native lands. Defend the people, protect the land!
