&lt;p&gt;Before my internship with the Vancouver Media Co-op began, I had decided to work on a series focusing on a social issue affecting Vancouver. After a week of research I sat down with my editor and we brainstormed which issue would be best to tackle. You probably won&amp;rsquo;t find Oprah&amp;rsquo;s latest pick, but if you&amp;rsquo;re searching for Marx, you&amp;rsquo;re in luck. Racks upon racks of counterculture zines line the wall. In the back, there is a row of computers with free internet access, and out front even a free telephone.&lt;/p&gt;
