DOWNTOWN EASTSIDE - More than 300 residents and supporters marched through Vancouver's DTES this afternoon to protest displacement.

Organizers are calling on the City to declare the neighbourhood a Social Justice Zone. The Anti-Gentrification Caucus of the DTES Local Area Planning Process has been circulating a petition and campaigning "to mobilize the low-income community against gentrification and displacement and for social housing and other low-income community assets."
