Anarchist Writers Bloc:

Double book launch (in Vancouver)

Tues July 10, 2012

Norman Nawrocki with local authors Bob Sarti & David Cunningham

Rhizome Café, 317 E. Broadway, 7pm-9pm, Free!

Montreal’s veteran rebel wordsmith/badmouth/author, Norman Nawrocki, celebrates his newest book of rabble-rousing poems, songs and attitude, NIGHTCAP for NIHILISTS, while the Anarchist Writers Bloc (AWB), toasts SUBVERSIONS Vol II, an international collection of anarchist short stories, including contributions from BC.

SUBVERSIONS Vol II, is the second ever published anthology of new anarchist fiction. The 260 page, trilingual (English, French & Italian) book is a powerful collection of 28 original short stories from 28 established and emerging anarchist writers from around the world.

It includes an English preface by the award-winning American author Marge Piercy (The NY Times Bestseller, Gone to Soldiers, Woman on the Edge of TimeVida, Braided Lives, etc.), and a French preface by the  celebrated Belgian Situationist writer and philosopher (and contemporary of Guy Debord), Raoul Vaneigem (The Revolution of Everyday Life, The Movement of the Free Spirit, Book of Pleasures, etc.).

Among the English authors in SUBVERSIONS Vol II are: Peter Gelderloos (South End Press), Jamie Heckert (Routledge), Sandra Jeppesen (Gutter Press), Frank Miller (AK Press), Norman Nawrocki (Black Rose Books), and more.

The AWB is a core group of a dozen Montreal writers who promote anarchist theory and action through works of literature, poetry, theatre, screenwriting, etc. Other collaborators live around the world.
