Vancouver is the most unaffordable city in North America. The Commercial Drive area contains some of the city's last stocks of precious affordable housing, including aboriginal housing, cooperatives, and affordable rental. However, the city government is targeting the area for redevelopment and gentrification. This forum will highlight the housing situation of Commercial Drive's diverse communities. There will also be discussions about how to keep rents low and stop gentrification.

Maureen Bourke - rent control

Theresa Diewert - homelessness and shared housing on the Drive

Patrick Stewart - urban aboriginal housing in East Van

Garth Mullins - redevelopment and gentrification in Grandview-Woodlands

Jon Leah Hopkins - renting on the Drive
