Join Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba (VCSC) for a special screening of 2 Cuban films about the rights of LGBTQ+ people in Cuba + Live Music & Poetry!

Featuring:

>> IN THE WRONG BODY (En el Cuerpo Equivocado)
A 2010 documentary brings the moving story of Mavi Susel, the first transgender person to receive a free sex reassignment surgery in Cuba in 1988.

>> STRAWBERRY & CHOCOLATE (Fresa y Chocolate)
A 1993 feature film nominated for an Oscar, which brought the ground-breaking story of two Cuban men: one gay, the other straight, one a fierce communist, the other a fierce individualist, one suspicious, the other accepting – and how they learn to love each other.
