The Provincial Government has announced a Transit Referendum to be held in March of 2015. Losing this crucial vote would strand thousands.
Chronic underfunding has plagued HandyDART for years. TransLink has been forced to resort to stop gap measures to stem a tide of ride denials.
Join us for an open discussion of the need to provide a meaningful increase to HandyDART service, and the opportunity presented by the transit funding referendum.
The referendum will be on the Mayors Council proposal which includes a 30% increase in HandyDART service hours over 10 years. This is an important step forward, although much more is really needed after a 5-year freeze and given our rapidly aging population. Come out on Saturday October 25 and get involved!
It is time to stand together to ensure that transit is accessible to all!
