*Remember - Wear a Costume and Win a Prize!*
Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) formed on October 29, 2003 with the objective to organize, educate and mobilize against wars and occupations at home and abroad. For the last 12 years MAWO has done just that, through hundreds of pickets and rallies, educational and cultural events, film and music festivals and participation in campus and community events. MAWO has been a constant voice from Canada on the international scene, demanding an end to war and occupation and self-determination for all oppressed nations at international conferences and protests and working closely with and as a member of international antiwar coalitions and organizations to build a stronger and more united antiwar movement.
On October 30, we invite you to join us for MAWO’een, a cultural evening of rhythms and rhymes, featuring performances from local talent and many long time favorites raising their voices for a world without war and occupation!
This will be an evening of looking back while moving forward into a new year of educating, organizing and mobilizing, and of course a chance for you to get out your MAWO’een costume and enjoy some treats!
