▪ writing one blog post per month about a local event or issue

How to apply:

Applications are due at midnight on Thursday, May 1.

No resume is necessary. Just send a brief letter expressing your interest (100 - 300 words max) to nmarshik [at] mediacoop.ca; please include your name, pronoun (if you want) and contact information including phone number. Tell us why you think alternative media rocks, what kind of underreported topics inspire, excite or enrage you the most, and what kinds of experience or skills you have to offer or would like to develop!

If we get multiple awesome applicants, we'll do our best to figure out how to accommodate all of you! The more the merrier.

The VMC is nowhere near as formal as the national Media Co-op, but it is worth mentioning the national Media Co-op's equity policy. Please do let us know any barriers you experience and would like us to consider.

"The Media Co-op has an employment equity policy in effect. People from marginalized communities, including women, Indigenous people, visible minorities, people with disabilities, Deaf people, gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, queer people, two-spirit people, transgender and transsexual people, and working class people are especially encouraged to apply. Please indicate in your cover letter if you would like to be considered for employment equity."
