Repudiate the Presence of Obama in Chile and Latin America - Vancouver, BC.
PRESS RELEASE
The State Departement of the U.S.A. and the Chancellery of the Chilean government of Piñera have kept secret the exact date that the head of the yankee imperialism will step on Chilean soil, to do its colony inspection. They have limited to announce that this visit will take place during the week of March 21.
We are certain that this “mystery” is a sign of their fear of demonstrations that will surely be held to repudiate Obama’s presence. It is badly a wasted attempt to impede and demobilize these demonstrations.
In order to join this rejection to imperialism, to the presence of Obama in Chile and Latinamerica, the Collective in Repudiation to the Presence of Obama in Chile and Latinamerica, calls upon the Latinamerican, Canadian solidarity organizations, in particular the Chilean community in Vancouver to take part in demonstrations to protest and repudiate Obama’s visit to be held during the week of March 21 next in front of the Chilean consulate in Vancouver located at 1250 - 1185 Georgia Street West.
We have to make known our strong opposition to the presence of the head of the yankee imperialism in Chile and other Latinamerican countries. To make known the dignity of the peoples of Chile, the determination to liberate ourselves from the yoke of imperialism; and to take into our own hands the destiny of our peoples.
We extend an open invitation to everyone in our solidarity community to become active members of this Collective and the activities that this Collective organizes, thus, to reach all media possible, grassroots organizations, trade unions, solidarity organizations, and to all aspects of society.
We will meet this Friday, February 18 next at 7:30 p.m. in Joe’s Café located at 1150 Commercial Drive, Vancouver. We invite all media [newspapers, radio, TV] of our community to collaborate with our Collective by distributing this Press Release and any and all future communications respecting the activities organized by this Collective. Also, that we all circulate this Communiqué and all communications via Internet.
