(Vancouver, April 19, 2010): On Tuesday April 19, Tibetans and supporters in Vancouver will hold a vigil and protest in solidarity with Tibetans in Ngaba Tibet, who are currently being subjected to a brutal Chinese military crackdown. Kirti Monastery has been under lockdown for many days, and 34 people are known to have been detained.
Canada Tibet Committee is deeply dismayed by this violation of the basic rights of Tibetan people, and stands in solidarity with Tibetans who, despite risk of torture and death, refuse to be silenced by fear.
Vigil at 4pm, at the Chinese Consulate, 3380 Granville Street, Vancouver
