Hundreds marched down Commercial Drive today for Vancouver's annual anti-racism march, which drew attention to a wide range of issues — from recent workplace raids and deportations of undocumented migrants to the colonization of Indigenous lands, hate crimes and poverty.
Organized by the migrant justice group No One Is Illegal, the yearly demonstration coincides with International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21, the anniversary of the Sharpeville Massacre of 69 anti-apartheid activists in South Africa in 1960.
