VANCOUVER - Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak was the featured speaker for the latest $500/plate Bon Mot Book Club dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel tonight. Members of the notorious rightwing book club were greeted by protestors chanting 'war criminals not welcome' calling for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
The protesters say Barak should not have have been allowed into Canada because of his role in:
- ordering Operation Cast Lead, the assault on Gaza that killed 1400 Palestinians
- attacking the Gaza Flotilla in June 2010
- launching last November's attacks on Gaza
- maintaining the siege on Gaza
- expanding the construction of the Apartheid Wall
- multiple assassinations of Palestinian political activists and leaders
The Bon Mot Book Club is the same group that hosted $500/plate dinners for US war criminal Dick Cheney and Pakistan's Pervez Musharraf.
