SERVING AND PROTECTING

The police are out in full force on virtually every corner in downtown Toronto (and in every Starbucks) keeping the city safe for G20 leaders.

Alternative media are being pulled over on their bikes and questioned on just where they are going, activists are being stopped and made to dump all their stuff out on the sidewalk (for having a motorcycle helmet but no motorcycle).  People have been stopped, harassed and grilled for wearing a G20 Child Care t-shirt.   During today's march for Native Rights, tar sands protesters had the little sticks holding up their banner confiscated by police for "security" reasons.
