BURNABY -  The owner of a vacant Burnaby apartment building  was granted an injunction in BC Supreme Court today. A court representative posted the injunction on the building around 1:45 this afternoon.

Alliance Against Displacement members have been occupying part of the empty 23-unit building since Saturday. The injunction opens the way for RCMP to "legally" remove the homeless and demand that they agree not to return to the property .

The building is slated for demolition to make way for another high-end highrise in the area around the Metrotown shopping centre.

A vigil is slated to start at 5pm today at the site at 5025 Imperial St. in Burnaby. For more information visit the Alliance Against Displacement on Facebook.
