DOWNTOWN EASTSIDE - More than 4,000 people snaked through the DTES this afternoon on the 21st annual Women’s Memorial March honoring missing and murdered women.
This year's event comes during the sham provincial inquiry on missing women. Organizers repeatedly pointed out that women continue to go missing as police and politicans continue to refuse to act.
March organizer Carol Martin led the crowd in a moment's silence outside the Vancouver Police Department on Main street. The march also stopped at several places along the four-hour route for ceremonies to honour specific murder victims.
