Myka Abramson, a member of the Vancouver Community Mobilization Network, discusses spectacle capitalism in B.C. She draws links between the Olympics, education and the G8, and explores the corporatization of the University, including the nexus between Simon Fraser University, London Drugs, and the Woodwards redevelopment.
Abramson's talk was part of a teach-in at Robson Square on May 13. UBC at Robson Square is one of the most corporate university sites in Vancouver, and since the 2010 Olympics in February has allegedly been sold to General Electric and renamed GE Place.
