SodaStream Boycott – Singing at display in London Drugs

The Solidarity Notes Labour Choir & others gathered outside London Drugs in downtown Vancouver to mark the start of the Boycott Sodastream campaign. Around the world, groups are now boycotting this company, with the aim of pressuring Israel to obey international law and respect Palestinian human rights. http://canadianboycottcoalition.ca/
This demonstration is part of the Canada-wide SodaStream boycott campaign of the Canadian Boycott Coalition. Local members of this coalition are Independent Jewish Voices (Vancouver) and the Boycott Israeli Apartheid Campaign (BIAC).

SodaStream is an Israeli company whose main factory is situated in the illegally occupied West Bank near the settlement of Ma'ale Adumim. Conditions typify Palestinian life under Israeli military occupation, where there are few employment opportunities. SodaStream pays the virtually captive Palestinian workforce poorly. The factory has two shifts, which change every four days. Workers taking sick time are often fired for doing so and there is no premium paid for overtime or night shifts.
Because they are part of an occupied population, Palestinians depend on their employers for work permits. Those who protest their conditions or try to organize have their work permits revoked and are branded as security risks, making them virtually unemployable.
