COMMUNIQUE

We deplore the terrible assassination of Ignacio Reyes (50), Teodoro Acosta (40), Siriaco Muños (56), Raúl Castillo (45), and José Luis Sauceda (32), members of the Campesino Movement of Aguan (MCA), who were brutally assassinated in the early hours of Monday November 15th, 2010, in the area of Tumbador, Trujillo, by the hired killers of Miguel Facusse.

The lands in this part of Trujillo belong to the Campesino Movemet of Aguan (MCA), as the state through the National Agrarian Institute (INA) paid Temistocles Ramírez for them, but which as in all of these cases have been usurped by Miguel Facusse without any legal basis.

Therefore:

1. We condemn the brutal and savage attack of which made victims of our compañeros from MCA, located in the municipality of Trujillo, where five innocent people were killed by assassins and hired killers working for Miguel Facusse in collaboration with members of the police and military, who were trained in anticipation of such bloody acts. [Translator's note: click here for more information on the Facusse family].

 2. We condemn the attitude of the police and military, because though they already have information about the armed groups of the businessmen Miguel Facusse, René Morales and Reynaldo Canales, don't act, but instead protect them and provide them with their vehicles, fatigues, and heavy caliber weapons (M-16, M-60) to carry out their massacres. This confirms to us that the army doesn't defend the interests of the people but instead defends the powerful groups in the country.

3. We condemn the attitude of the Minister of Security and the Minister of Defense in his mistaken speech in which he alleged that the act took place because of the invasion of a private propoerty, and at the same time we DEMAND the disarmament of the army of assassins commanded by Miguel Facusse with military training by RANGER teams from the United States.

We assert that due to this massacre they won't stop the struggle and that our people will not continue to be subjugated to slavery.

COMUNICADO

invasion?

I have for the most of my life outside of HONDURAS deplored the conditions of our society and livelyhood, at the expense of our undereclassed laborer  peasants...I despise how a few businessmen have overtaken my country and my people...I know for a fact how Mr. Facusse, sotle blind the governments funds from CONADI..and how he has personally evicted peasants from his dream island Zacate Grande to only trample the mangroves for his fancy homes..and private beaches...but, IS THE ARMING OF PEASANTS BY THE ORDER OF INEPT PUBLIC FIGURES LIKE CESAR HAM, the director of the National Agrarian Institute, INA the right recourse?  I don't think so...Whay is it soooo hard to earn our land with hard work, and endeavor, after all, if Mr, Facusse has not one bit of love towards our people, like I know he doesn't , isn't it better to show him by merit and love, how we can make our land produce??  By the way, Mr. Facusse ingeniously insists that the peaseants from MUCA can go and fight this in court. Is he kidding?  We iknow the courts are paid, bribed and partial to him  END OF STORY.  GOD BLESS MY HONDURAS...
