Downtown East Side residents and their supporters took to the streets on Sunday, January 25th to protest the so called "street sweeps" being carried out by the Vancouver Police Department.

Led by members of the Power of Women group from the Downtown East Side Women's center, protestors demanded that the police stop harassing residents.

The VPD has increased their target amount of tickets issued by 20 per cent in the run-up to the 2010 Olympics.
