Over 200 people gathered at noon today in Pigeon Park, located in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside to rally for more social housing.  The crowd marched to a nearby vacant lot and set up the "Olympic Tent Village". The action was organized by the Power of Women group from the DTES Women's Centre. Canada is the only G8 nation without a national housing strategy, and the numbers of homeless continue to grow.
