COAST SALISH TERRITORY -  Downtown Eastside friends and neighbours came out  tonight to help Haida carver Skundaal (Bernice Williams) move her latest totem. The log jammers moved the six-metre work in progress from a summer carving tent on East Hastings to an indoor studio space a block away on Cordova.

Traffic was stopped while the pole was rocked and rolled around the block. The hardest part was getting it through the studio door - but it went. Williams says work will resume on the pole in four days.
