VANCOUVER - The remaining residents of Vancouver's first social housing complex gathered today in a last ditch effort to save their Little Mountain home.

A decision is expected tomorrow on whether BC Housing can kick the residents out to make way for 1,600 luxury condos and about 225 social housing units.  Four of the remaining residents held a press conference today saying they don't know what they will do if the evictions go through. Two are blind seniors and fear moving to an unfamiliar place.

With the help of former NDP MLA David Chudnovsky and former COPE city counsellor Ellen Woodsworth the remaining residents are fighting to keep their home.

The last standing building was built in 1954. The rest were torn down in 2009 after  a months-long community protest to save the housing. The fenced off 15-acre site has remained empty since it was bulldozed three years ago.
