St'át'imc Runner, September 2010

Hi Everyone,

Here is the September issue.

Separately attached is the center section, which is a series of interviews about the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, as September 13 will be the 3rd anniversary. Canada is one of only two governments to continue to reject it.
Interviews from the four who voted against - New Zealand, Australia, USA and Canada, plus the Articles of the document and some previous declarations by the World Council of Indigenous Peoples.

It is important for the grassroots people in Canada to realize that this Declaration supports them, and that when Canada reports on its progress in meeting the human rights obligations it has as a member of the UN, this Declaration is used as a backdrop.
