I am a petroleum engineering researcher normally based at Texas Tech University. As a byproduct of a link that developed starting a decade ago back in the mid 2000s between my research group at Texas Tech and a research team led by Prof Rafiq Islam at Dal Tech, I and several other members of my team became aware of the Canadian Maritimes — and the unprosecuted environmental crimes, both at sea and on land, committed throughout the Atlantic region by Big Oil and its Canadian acolytes. More recently I became gradually aware of the environmental issues in the Atlantic region of what you call First Nations, including the fracking issue in southeastern New Brunswick.
How did you learn about the media co-op?
A researcher friend at Dalhousie University mentioned yours as a link for following stories about the Native peopls of the Canadian Maritimes.
