Early Morning Blockade of Vancouver Port

See video

At the crack of dawn on this crisp December morning, about a twenty five people blocked the Clark drive entrance of the port of Vancouver and later the Heatley Street entrance. Cars were turned away and pamphlets explaining the action were given to drivers. Occupy Oakland called for a sutdown of west coast ports in solidarity with striking International Lonsgshore Workers Union in the state of Washington.

Motorists were mostly supportive of the action and some honked their horns and hollered in support. This is just the beginning as a larger action is scheduled for noon today at New Brighton Park. Stay tuned to Vancouver Media Co-op for more updates on the port shutdown.
