From the 26th-28th of January 2010, the social justice club at the university of British Columbia hosted the third annual "Resisting the University" Conference. The theme this year was "Rethinking the Olympics." What follows is the panel discussion entitled "Activism and the Student."

This panel sought to answer, among other things, the following questions:

-What is the Role of the Student and the University in Olympics Resistance?

-Where do theory and academics belong in activism?

The panel consisted of Dr. Bruce Baum, Dr Lorraine Weir, Dr. Geraldine Pratt, Stefanie Ratjen of the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA), and community activist Christina Paris.
