  • Poetry by Stephen Collis

A year after the BP oil spill crews are still working to clean 380 kilometers of coastline, with an additional 480 kilometers slotted for cleanup later this year. The worst maritime oil spill in history bears remembering. It is a devastating instance of what happens when extractive industries behave irresponsibly, and a bitter reminder of the need to safeguard our communities and ecosystems against similar fates.
