Global Day of Action for Boycott Divestment Sanctions against Israeli Apartheid targets Mountain Equipment Co-op

March 30 was the Global Day of Action for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israeli apartheid and in solidarity with the Palestinian people. Activists across Canada targeted Mountain Equipment Co-op, calling on MEC to end it's "partnerships" with Israeli factories, including Israeli military designer and contractor Source Vagabond.

Two days after Rachel Corrie was crushed by an Israeli military bulldozer while trying to protect a Palestinian home from demolition on March 16 2003, her friends and colleagues gathered to remember her on the spot she was killed in Rafah, Gaza Strip. Canwest, Canada's largest media company, has launched a Global War on Satire to ensure that fundamentalist fanatics don't threaten its sacred freedom to monopolize media or mock its profound pro-Israel and neo-conservative bias.

Brave Canwest is teetering on the verge of bankruptcy but it will never abandon the War on Satire. The pernicious parodists will have to pull this SLAPP suit from Canwest's cold dead hand.
