Thursday, May 31: Celebrate Co-op Media & Resistance to Mining

Community supper hosted by the Vancouver Media Co-op

Join the Vancouver Media Co-op and the Mining Justice Alliance for a round up of the last year of inspiring local resistance to destructive mining, a hot meal (vegan and gluten free), and an update from Blaine Grinder, Tl'etinqox leader, about the struggle to protect Tetzan Biny and Tsilhqot'in territory from destructive mining. This event is in solidarity with the Shout Out for Mining Justice conference happening over the weekend, but with a special focus on community media &
struggles that are taking place outside of funded organizations and NGOs.

May is Membership Month at the Media Co-op, so we'll be asking folks to pitch in whatever they can to keep the VMC going. A donation of $20 gets you dinner, an engaging evening in celebration of community struggle, and a one year subscription to The Dominion. If you sign up
as a monthly VMC sustainer for $15 or more, you get all of the above plus a great Media Co-op t-shirt and your name entered into a draw for some great prizes!

We are asking folks to RSVP to vmc@mediacoop.ca so that we know how much food to prepare. Unfortunately this space is not accessible as there are three steps leading up to the door. Also note that no one will be turned away for lack of funds, but please still contact us to let us know you are coming.

Children are welcome. This event is alcohol free.
