VANCOUVER - More than 1,500 high school students braved the rain today to support their teachers. The students rallied outside Christie Clark's office and the Vancouver Art Gallery to back teacher demands for a fair contract from the provincial government.

The students called on the BC Liberals to return to the bargaining table, to give teachers their long overdue wage hike and to address issues like overcrowded classes and dwindling supports for special needs students.

The 41,000 public school teachers in BC are expected to start a three-day walkout on Monday following the government's refusal to negiotiate a deal over the past year.
