LIMITED SPACE
Please contact julian@purplethistle.ca to reserve a spot.
This workshop will be divided into two parts.
* We will discuss and see examples of different aspects of visual communication, looking at posters, books, zines, web sites and analyzing what are the features of effective design.
* We will learn the basics of typography and the technology that goes along with manipulating text and images, including an introduction to Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as a discussion of the alternatives.
The second part of the workshop will be hands on.
* We will be completing a design project together with a step by step demonstration.
The workshop will conclude with a discussion of where to get
further resources and a description of the intermediate level
workshops being offered at the Thistle later this fall/winter.
