On April 16th, join members of the Vancouver Media Cooperative, locally based organizers, and speakers from Wet'suwet'en territories for the launch of the Dominion's special issue on climate justice.

Voices from grassroots resistance and traditional governance, as well as a movement elder speak out about movement building and against extractive industries trespassing in unceded Wet'suwet'en territories:

Elsie Dean has organized against nuclear energy and with End the Arms Race for over 50 years.

Freda Huson is a spokesperson for the Unist'ot'en (People of the Headwaters) people in the C'ilhts'ekhyu Clan.

Toghestiy, a hereditary chief of the Likhts'amisyu Clan, is actively involved in grassroots Wet'suwet'en resistance.

Mel Bazil is an organizer with the Lhe Lin Liyin of the Grassroots Wet'suwet'en.
Along with Enbridge's proposed Northern Gateway oil pipeline project, active opposition continues to the Pacific Trails gas pipeline, Lions Gate Minerals, the logging industry, and other unauthorized destructive activities in unceded territories.

Members of environmental and climate justice groups including Stop the Pave, Students Against Goldcorp and Gentrification, and Youth 4 Climate Justice Network will be on hand for short introductions about how to plug in to grassroots organizing in Vancouver.

Finally, we'll have a DJ spinning music, a great way to end off a Saturday night out at Rhizome!

The Dominion's in-depth report on climate justice takes the pulse of climate organizing locally, nationally and internationally, offering timely frontline accounts, graphics that demystify climate science, and hard hitting journalism on one of today's most pressing issues.

On the evening April 16th, Rhizome Café will be transformed into a hub of discussion on climate justice... We hope you can join us.
