Vancouver Anti-TPP Convergence in July: Communiqué #1

Since 2010, leaders have been meeting behind closed doors to form the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) to expand trade and give more power to the corporations. These nations are Australia, Brunei, Chile, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, United States and Vietnam. These agreements not only undermine workers the first world but it will inevitably create even worse conditions for workers in third world countries. The state will always serve the capitalists. The police will always protect the capitalists. The TPP hopes to strengthen the grip capitalism and the state has on our lives. This is intolerable for us and must be stopped.

The TPP Welcoming Committee is announcing our support for the resistance against the worldwide anti-trans pacific partnership convergence. We are also calling on all workers, students, anarchists, anti-capitalists, youth, aboriginals, Idle No More, Rising Tide and other groups to converge upon Vancouver (Occupied Coast Salish Territory), in July to not only voice their disgust for the agreement but we wish encourage them to take direct action whether it be in the form of sits ins, strikes, walkouts, occupations or lock downs. We also encourage people across so called Canada and throughout the Pacific Northwest to converge to shut these meetings down.

We are announcing and organizing a breakaway march from the official one that will take place. We are tired of seeing governments make deals with corporations and intern undermining the people and destroying native land that doesn’t even belong to us. We would like to call on people to take direct action during this march by any means they see fit. We see this as a perfect time to shut these fuckers down. More info will be released in the form of communiqués as the meeting date comes closer. Use this as a time to tell people about the Trans Pacific Partnership and organize your own affinity group.

Huh? What?

You might be better understood if you started off by explaining that there is some kind of specific Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) meeting taking place, which is what you are calling for a convergence against.

Then you could explain what the more official "resistance" to this meeting is.

You actually accidentally say you are supporting resistance to the official convergence that is opposed to the TPP meeting. Don't you mean you are supporting resistance to the TPP meeting, not the convergence against it?

If you're going to go to the trouble of writing something, especially a call-out, why not take the time to make some kind of sense? People need to understand before they can respond. Or is this all only for cool kids who are already in the know and aren't stumped by your broken language?

Why the hostility?

Did we read the same thing? Unless they edited the post since you critiqued it, I don't see your point. Anyway, we all know the "official resistance" will be overly articulated and anti-climactic as per usual.

hey folks, details and planning

Hey folks.  Just wanted to send a note to say that there are several issues around the dates of the negotiating round coming to Canada that are up in the air and it would be good to touch base. If folks want to touch base to strategize around this with more information let me know.

People ought to perceive

People ought to perceive before they'll respond. Or is that this all just for cool children WHO ar already within the apprehend and are not stumped by your broken language?

  • Wagering at this excellent on the internet wager site could not be less complicated and you really are likely to really enjoy the many bell and whistles on the pokies online slot machines, table craps and texas hold'em tables also.

Something like that ...

Don't know if we qualify as the "cool children" but there's a growing tendency in Vancouver towards something besides reformist demos? If you understand the difference and you want to see a different sort of street politics, this post makes perfect sense.
