DNC Street Market & Fair
Above are photos of the first and second DNC - Downtown Eastside Neighborhood Council Street Market & Fair.
"Smashing success" shouted Wendy Pedersen of the DNC - Downtown Eastside Neighborhood Council. "The event is better than we imagined."
The Council is currently working with The City of Vancouver for permits and ironing out the issues that come up as the event continues throuought the summer.
The DNC wishes to have the event on Hastings (Sunday) through the latter half of the summer, says "Tami Starlight" - DNC communictions liaison.
"The DNC hopes to have a more suitable and permenant location to hold the DNC Street Market & Fair every day. One that is community managed and directed," said Pedersen.
"Far to many times well meaning bureaucrats are paid to do work on our behalf with little to no consultation," she said on June 20th.
