APC Letter to VANOC
APC Letter to VANOC
Below is the statement APC sent to VANOC:
To VANOC, their pet VPD Police Force and Olympic Media Sponsors,
The Anti-Poverty Committee demands that the next VANOC board meeting set to take place on May 16th be open to any and all people wanting to attend.
While it is not in the interests of APC to give VANOC a podium in which to
lie to the people, it is in keeping with our democratic movement to ensure
that these meetings be open.
If VANOC does not open their doors we will shut the meeting down using any
means available.
To be clear, the APC does not believe that VANOC can be reformed into a
transparent organization, nor do we believe the 2010 Olympic Games will
benefit anyone but the filthy rich. And as the vast majority of British
Colombia remains unceded indigenous territory it follows that there can be
no legitimate games on stolen land.
But we do believe that the people who are being robbed must be allowed
access to the meetings of the thieves who are stealing their money.
Because that is the overwhelming desire of the people, we stand with them
and add, ‘Open Up or We Will Close You Down!’
If you think we are bluffing, please call us out.
